Lynden Pettet

4/10/1948 – 27/9/2004

Lynden was a member of the RAAF and served as an ADG with No:1 Operational Support Unit in Vietnam in 1969/70.

Lynden was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2001 and appeared to have recovered from it until mid 2004 when it was discovered that the disease had spread through his bones. His death would have been a welcome relief from the pain he endured.

He was a little seen, quiet achiever of the VVF. He attended the monthly barbecues with his wife Dawn but his main contribution to the Federation was done from his home. He devoted considerable time learning how to design and make a website work, and then put it all into practice for the VVF, updating our site regularly.

Although fading towards the end his dry sense of humour will be remembered by those who knew him. And for those who did not know Lynden this web site is his legacy to us.
